Under Influence – Azorted 1st Production

My aim of my project was to create a stop frame animation clip that addresses the effects bedroom culture and the media has on young adults. This was to be done by exploring how how the two directly influence young adults identity formation and role in the family home. I feel that I have achieved my aims by producing a short advertisement to alert audiences on the effects contemporary media devices are having on young members of society through the introduction of 'Under Influence'. The advertisement for 'Under Influence' suggests what the animation series would be about through taking a tour of the family home through the eyes of a young new member if the family. This new member has been juxtaposed to the other members of the family through displaying a clear lack of identity. The encoded message to audiences should hopefully suggest that this is due to lack of use of the media technologies available in the society she lives in. The advertisement shows the negative effects media technologies may have on its young audience and also the role the media plays in providing a source of direction towards the construction of identity.
