Some short videos from the Vancouver 2010 Paralympics Opening Ceremony. There was over 5000 performers on the field at BC Place. The Paralympic opening wasn’t about mega-stars or huge special effects, but about people interacting and celebrating human achievement against the odds. Each country was led in by BC athlete ambassadors carrying placards made from ocean driftwood or beetle-kill pine.
Good video. The flying beaver was pretty funny though.

it warms my heart to see a full house for the paralympions. They should broadcast the paralympics! It’s not fair to them, especially when some get medals and they realize that probably no one outside of Vancouver or their friends/family knows.

just above the big shots sitting below us….funny, they never showed Harper or Campbell on the two big screens during the show
Good video shot, especially coming from faraway in the C or D category seats (was it?). All I had was just a digital camera to shoot some small video footages of the ceremony.
I liked Michaëlle Jean already, but her coming in with those kids made me so happy…
