    it’s baking soda for red velvet cakes. Especially with the vinegar being included. Somehow vinegar and baking soda have a special relationship.

    Also baking soda reacts well with buttermilk, cocoa, and the vinegar because they are acidic and gives it good moisture.

    this is really unclear. she didnt tell the measurements for the ingrediants, which is extremely important. also, it would help if you numbered the order of the videos

    when the cocoa reacts with the vinigar it gives the cake a dark red colour but theese dayse with all the dutch processed cocoa the cake does not get the same colour so they add red food colouring. AS SHE SAID IN THE VIDEO!
    also this cake is typicly a celebration cake, for like christmas and valentines day so a lurid red makes a beautiful cake.
